The cross-cutting theme of innovation and technology (I&T) seeks to effectively promote innovation processes and the use of technology for the benefit of agriculture, of the actors in the chains and of the territories. Because it is a cross-cutting topic, the implementation of most of the I&T actions is mainly carried out through their incorporation into the projects of the programs, with the aim of adding value in I&T. Our actions focus on the following lines of action: 1) Capacity building to support innovation processes, 2) Promoting innovation processes and systems, 3) Facilitating access to alternatives, novelties and experiences, 4) Performing ex ante research and analysis of the requisite conditions for and the potential impact of innovation alternatives; and 5) Promoting interaction and collaborative work between the hemispheric programs and the innovation cooperation mechanisms.
