To assist public and private stakeholders, at the national and regional levels, to create the conditions for the production inclusion of family farmers—both male and female—by building capacities, in order to boost their productivity and competitiveness, as well as the sustainable management of agricultural activities, while also improving these individuals’ access to local and global agrifood systems, positively transforming rural territorial development.
Main contributions:
- Promote and support the creation of a new generation of public policies for FF that contribute to the development of rural territories and agrifood systems.
- Through technical cooperation actions, support the social and economic inclusion of FF in agrifood systems.
- Assist in strengthening the competitiveness of FF in rural areas and agrifood systems, through the development of associative capacities, with an emphasis on the promotion of cooperativism.
- Spearhead actions to strengthen the capacities of regional policy integration organizations and institutions to discuss public policies regarding territorial development and FF.
